HSWIM system HSW-2000

HSW-2000 is a traffic monitoring system designed for wide range of applications - traffic flow monitoring, congestion warning, measuring of real road load, bridge overload protection and for pre-selelection of overload vehicles from traffic flow. Overloaded vehicles can be slow down and redirected to nearest weighing site for legal law enforcement weighing on weighbridge VM-2.2 or portable system PW-10. HSW-2000 detects individual axle loads, axle group loads, gross weight, vehicle length, speed and class without slowing or interruption to traffic flow even at highway speeds usually with accuracy 5-10%.

Technical solution

We use the most accurate Lineas quartz WIM sensors in conjunction with inductive loops for vehicle detection and traffic intensity monitoring. Sensors are installed into road pavement (concrete or bitumen). Bedding into concrete is more suitable for long-term operation.

Sensor's surface can be grind to be levelled with road surface to achieve desired accuracy and reliability.

 

Sensor's configuration on weighing site depends on intensity of heavy vehicles in the road lanes. WIM sensors can be used in "full" configuration (two sensor strips accross the each lane as in the picture) or in "staggered" configuration, when each of the two sensor strips covers one half of the lane.

Most common configuration is "full" on the truck lane and "staggered" on the passenger car lane.

Evaluation unit is placed in a roadside cabinet. Data are transfered via radiomodem, WiFi network or GSM network for further processing.

Traffic data collection

HSW-2000 provide accurate data about load factors that cause wear and surface deterioration. With growing number of heavy vehicles on the roads, many roads are operating over their design specifications. HSW-2000 is helpful for exact maintenance planning that is essential for prolonging of the road lifetime.

Bridge protection

Bridges, the least resistant but the most expensive elements of the road infrastructure, are suffering from impacts of dynamic forces caused by fast moving heavy vehicles. HSW-2000 provides early detection of such vehicles that can be slowed down or prevented from bridge overcrossing.
